The Yindyamarra Way Project
What are we doing?
Why are we doing it?
Yindyamarra Way delivers sustained advocacy and practical support to women incarcerated in Victorian prisons, with a focus on maintaining family bonds, accessing services, and upholding dignity. Many of these women are mothers, sisters, and daughters—predominantly Aboriginal women disproportionately affected by systemic incarceration. This project ensures they are not forgotten by those outside and can maintain critical connections to family, community, and pathways to support. To ensure women maintain family connection. We do this through taking photo's of their families and sending those photographs of their loved ones into their prison.
