THE STORY BEHIND THE PAINTING: Freedom to Dance came from my heart as a Wiradjuri woman, wanting to capture the joy and strength that lives in movement. For me, dancing is a way of remembering — of feeling Country, of carrying stories that can’t be silenced. As I painted, I let the brush move like a body in rhythm: flowing, layered, unrestrained. The colours and forms carry that sense of release — the freedom to express, to celebrate, to exist fully.
