THE STORY BEHIND THE ARTWORK: I sit alone in my cell, looking outside at the sky, the landscape and sometimes the stars. I used to think I was alone. But now I tell myself my cell is my own place of worship. It can be whatever I want it to be. I don’t need to be in a cell to be locked up. When I was in the community, in my mind I was already inside a cell. Now my mind is clear, all the colours create beauty and peace. I feel confident about my path now because I am walking with hope and clarity.
